Sunglasses For Older Kids

I have noticed this behaviour with my oldest child, he is no longer a kid at such and as a result he doesn't want to be associated with babyish accessories either such as batman lunch boxes or superman school bag or even Ben 10 sunglasses. It is with this mind that I have decided to a post on sunglasses for the older kids.

These days designers are creating mini me version of their adult clothing to cater for those wanting to wear the same style of clothing with their children. Immediately I saw these Venetia studded t-bar shoes it reminded me of  Valentino Rockstud Leather Pumps. They are indeed very cute and if I may add a showstopper. The studs on the shoes makes a prominent feature in a good way of course.

Little People Sunglasses For Younger Kids

The little sunshine that I have seen in the past few days, has got me thinking about getting the children's summer wardrobe ready- if not physically but at least to have mental pictures of the things I did like for them to have.

One of those things on the purchase lists is sunglasses. I love looking at kids sunglasses especially the character inspired ones and the way they look on their little faces.

Daisy Print Gingham Dress | Perfect For Summer

Toddler Girls Daisy Gingham Dress £20 - £22 - Woolworths | Very

When I think of gingham dress, what spring to mind is summer school uniform. So if I find myself in the mood of wanting to buy gingham related outfit for my little girl, it has to have something much more. Something that will make it not too appear like a school uniform. And this gingham dress with daisy print fits the bill perfectly. The floral print on the dress adds just the right amount of cuteness that is perfect enough to look so adorable on your little girl.

This Is What School Lunches Look Like Around The World

I saw this article few days ago whilst on MSN website which featured school lunches across the word. I remember my school lunch days not with fond memory if  I may add, it usually consist of tuna sandwich, a piece of cake, fruit and drink or chips, cake and fish fingers  because I didn't like the look of the rest cooked foods on offer. It was nothing like the lovely food featured by MSN.

I have picked some of my favourites based on the food I still love and loved as a child growing up ( rice, plantain) as well as the ones I would have love to try if I had the opportunity as they look lovely and I hope would also translate to tasting lovingly too.

Here's what lunches around the world look like

I am a big fan of plantain as I get to eat it at least three times a week. Everything about the food looks lovingly and delicious.

Here's what lunches around the world look like

The main appeal for me with the Spanish school lunch are the shrimp, rice, tri colour pepper and off course the soup.

Everything on this plate looks pretty, healthy and colourful too.

Skribbles Trainers - Draw | Wipe | Draw

Children might be happy for you to pick out an already made shoes for them which is fine if this is what both of you want. As for those with children of their own or that work with children will tell you, children will appreciate something more if they are involved in the creating process whether it is pizza making or cake baking or simply designing something to be used in the house.

I came across this interesting concept called Skribbles. In a nutshell children get to customise their own shoes to their individual taste with their own scribbling in their own chosen colours.

And there are three colours to choose from navy blue, neon black and pink paradise in kids sizes from 10 to 3. Retail price each pair is £39.95.

What about rain? Will the ink come off?

No. As long as some time has been given for the ink to dry onto the shoe surface your drawings should stay on even if it rains!! The longer the ink has been on the shoe the more resilient they are to scuffing and extreme weather conditions.

The Cash Card With Parental Controls. Try goHenry‏

If there's one thing that I will tell my younger self, it would be the importance of being armed with excellent money management skills. And already, I have started talking to my children ages 8, 7 and 5 years on the importance of having good money management skills. This on-going (note I use the word 'ON-GOING'), because changes as we get older and this is applicable in all facets of like.

I came across this rather unusual concept called goHenry. An excerpt from their website www.gohenry.co.uk describes it as a new way for young people to develop great money habits; we're not a bank, and we don't think like a bank. We think that experience in a safe environment is the best way to learn, and that learning about money early should be fun and should set children up for life.
A small group of friends and parents who just wanted to help our children and teenagers understand how money works in the modern world.

And to be honest, we struggled. Our children borrowed our cards to spend online, pocket money using cash was often a source of family debate - who'd had what, for what, and when.

Their main objectives are:

  1. A safe environment where our own children and teenagers can learn about earning, saving and spending by doing it for real themselves, but with our oversight and guidance
  2. In a way they understand and enjoy - and that meant creating great web and mobile apps (though it works very well without the app too)
  3. Something that makes our lives easier!

In a nutshell, goHenry is an online account for you, and a linked account for each of your children. All managed through beautiful mobile and web apps. Your children get their own goHenry pre-paid card with parental controls. You set the rules and limits, can allocate pocket money automatically or set chores for your children to earn extra money. Your children gain independence and learn by doing, all under your watchful eye. For more information visit their website at goHenry

Have you tried goHenry before or you are an active user of this new money spending concept? I would love to hear from you. Do you think that there's something much better than goHenry that we should know about?

Fun Looking Rain Boots For Boys and Girls

There's been a dramatic change in the weather as of recent. Although most mornings are still as chilling as pre-spring 2015. But what consoles me is that I keeping reminding myself that the days are getting longer, the kids and I are beginning to indulge in ice-cream a lot more  and I am really looking forward to dressing lighter, doing away with those heavy duty winter coats and taking part in more outdoors activities.

With spring comes April showers and I though I feature some really cute looking rain boots both for boys and girls.

Bright and Colourful Dr Martens Zip Boots

Dr Martens Lace Up & Zip Boots £46

I have never considered buying Dr Martens boos for my little girl until I saw little girl rocking the pink version.  And all I have to say is that they are really beautiful. Though there are zips and laces, I am not too sure if the laces are functional or just there as decorations.

The boots are made of soft durable leather with an air cushioned sole.

The Honest Company Fruit & Veggie Wash

The Honest Company Fruit & Veggie Wash £4,78

I know that most people are worried about chemicals found in foods and other household items and it is for this reason that gave rise to organic based products. So whilst doing my usual browsing, I came across fruit and veggie wash by The Honest Company. I have ever thought of buying wash for fruit and veggie as I felt using ordinary water would suffice. I personally have never used any product from The Honest Company found by Jessica Alba but they are great reviews on their products -  which I guess says something good about their product lines.

I know the ethos of The Honest Company is based on having products for family and home that are
natural, safe, beautiful and effective. Having said that, I would really love to give their products a try but I don't think the fruit and veggie wash would be high on my list. What are you thoughts?
